How To Be Ready When The FTC Comes Knocking
Do you market your own products? Do you recommend other peoples products or services. Almost every internet marketer ends up with a mix of products (affiliate or not) along with their own. Most use testimonials from clients and customers to build social proof. We all know there has been a lot of abuse of this marketing approach.
The FTC recently announced a number of new rules and regulations to protect consumers. The bottom line: Anyone who publishes or markets anything on the internet or participates in affiliate programs, needs to add a variety of disclaimers and legal documents to their sites and to their published ebooks, software, etc.
If you’re new to internet marketing, this is an extention of the program the FTC started in 2003. Well known internet marketer, Stephen Pierce, got nailed for $25,000, and that caused most of us to “legal up” with terms of service, privacy policies, and earnings disclaimers on our sites.
Back in 2003, I purchased (One Time Fee) AutoWebLaw and have used it ever since. Its a server side product -meaning that the AWL legal team keeps it up to date on their end so when I open it on my computer, I’m actually connecting to their main server and working with the latest documents for the new rules and regs. No updates or new versions to hassle with – its ready to go.
The legal docs are clearly labeled by purpose, so after entering my info — such as product name, website name, etc — a new, ready to copy document is created, that I can paste into my site, ebook, of software. Quick, easy, its done – and its legal! Here’s the link to check it out!
Note: This is a business site and what I’ve just done is an affiliate endorsement. I do hope you’ll click that link and purchase AutoWebLaw from Len … as I will get paid an affilate commission. You’ll find a link to my complete affiliate disclaimer and other legal documents at the bottom of this page.
